ANNUAL CLERGY’S RETREAT.
It is the responsibility of the local ordinary to look into the spiritual needs of his clergy. In the Catholic diocese of Klerksdorp, the local ordinary organises a one week off from pastoral endeavours for his priests and deacons every year.
This years’ annual retreat will commence from the 31 October till the 4 November 2011. This spiritual exercise will take place at Good Shepherd Retreat Centre, Hartbeespoort.
Bishop Z.P. Mvemve requests all his priests and deacons to attend.
EVANGELIZATION.
The order of priesthood establishes all priests and deacons to be united among themselves in an intimate sacramental brotherhood.
In a special way we form one presbytery in a diocese to whose service we are committed under our own diocesan bishop.
In our last Presbyterium meeting held on 20 September 2011 at Rabbuni Centre, reverend Father B. Mc Alley from the Archdiocese of Johannesburg gave a talk on Evangelization.
In a nut shell he said that; “the church exists to evangelize”. Evangelization means bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ everywhere, how he lived, died and rose again out of love for us, how he teaches us a new way to live and to build a world of love, peace and justice.
First of all each person must be evangelized in order to evangelize others, first evangelization is that personal intimacy with Christ. So we need to live the life of Jesus ourselves in our families, in our Christian communities, in the church and there after we are sent to become messengers of the Gospel and to work for the transformation of the world in the light of the Gospel.
